One of the ministries I participate in with my church is the Marriage Enrichment Team. 2020 has presented unique challenges to that ministry as we have had to curtail any in-person events. Like everyone else, we have had to figure out how to function in a virtual environment. This month, we have two online events in support of marriage enrichment.

This will a 5 week study of The Secret of Growing True Love That Lasts by Jim and Carol Steffen hosted and facilitated by Ken Blanchard (yes, The Ken Blanchard). The “book club” will meet via Zoom on Tuesday evenings, 7:00pm – 8:30pm, October 20, 2020 – November 17, 2020. This year has presented added stressors to couples and families: sheltering at home, financial difficulties, homeschooling, loss of family and social support system, fear of exposure to disease. The Marriage Enrichment Team is offering Surviving the Pandemic with Your Marriage Intact, a 60 minute webinar to help couples cope with the added relationship stressors that have resulted from the 2020 global COVID pandemic. The course is facilitated by Scott Wood (yours truly), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. In addition to the prepared lecture, participants will be able to ask questions in real time. The seminar is free to both members and the community at large. The seminar is scheduled for Sunday, October 25 at 5:00pm. You may enroll on the church website.
